Pr-ed Institute prepares people for professional registration across South Africa's construction, engineering, built-environment and environmental professions.
What we do
People doing serious professional work often struggle to register, not because the work is missing, but because nobody ever showed them how to account for it. We help you build that account through pathway guidance, self-assessment, editable voice-to-text capture, organised evidence, practical learning, knowledge transfer and structured mentor feedback.
We work across the councils in the Council for the Built Environment core group and the adjacent regulators in planning, geomatics, environmental assessment and natural science. Each category keeps its own rules, because they genuinely differ.

We are responsible for
- Helping you capture and structure your professional experience.
- Helping you identify preparation gaps through pathway-specific self-assessment.
- Training on evidence quality, contribution and ethical reporting.
- Listing council source documents and supporting practical knowledge transfer.
- Mentor review that tells you honestly where your account is weak.
- Keeping evidence, learning, mentorship and CPD progress distinct and understandable.
- Being clear about where our information comes from and when we last checked it.
We are not responsible for
- Deciding your registration. Only your council does that.
- Guaranteeing an outcome. We publish no pass rates, because we would be making them up.
- Accrediting CPD. Any official points come from the council or an accredited provider.
- Speaking for any council. Nothing here is council-endorsed.
About this version of the site
This is a working review build. The wordmark is a provisional design, the sample candidates, mentors and cohorts are synthetic, and no council logos or accreditation marks are shown anywhere. We have not published mentor names, photographs, testimonials or endorsements, because we will not invent them.
